The idea of doing ANYTHING which could easily lead to SOMETHING….

July 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’m working on some longer pieces for le blog right now about some really important topics, (my deep love affair with Dunkin Donuts, for example) so I don’t have much to say today. I’m also, like, super tired post J 4th; and as Cher would say, “I feel like such a heifer. I had two bowls of Special K, 3 pieces of turkey bacon, a handful of popcorn, 5 peanut butter M&M’s and like 3 pieces of licorice” yesterday, except that I actually did eat, like, five pieces of pizza, some chili, an entire bag of Cape Cod barbecue potato chips, six brownies, two or eight shots of tequila and maybe a beer or five.

Thank God it’s only Saturday. I thought it was Sunday for about fifteen minutes when I woke up this morning and was quite frightened. What glorious news to realize I was wrong! More time to do nothing, my absolute favorite thing in the world, and my one area of expertise. Jerry S, my boy, did this great bit on Letterman about five or six years ago, discussing the art of being totally useless. The first few minutes are pretty great, as is the stuff about babies. Enjoy.
